Family vacation in Mexico

We spent our summer vacation in Puerto Penasco Mexico. It was the Grover (Gordon & Elaine) family vacation. We were all there except for Nolan & Megan's Peyton. We met up in Phoenix and drove down in a carravan on an Sunday. What a drive. All of the kids traveled well, they were such troopers! We spent the week in a beach house with the back porch facing the ocean, a very beautiful view. Bryan's parents and his sister and her husband came a long as well. Despite the heat (no A/C in the beach houses) we had good food, good company and an overall great time. McCrae had such a great time playing with all his cousins in the sand and water. Our camera broke right before the trip. We took a back up camera but I regret to say that I did not take a single picture :-(.

The Nightmare is finally ending!

The problems all started on May 29 (Thursday evening) with mastitis. Anyone who has had this knows what I am talking about. While trying to work through it Friday afternoon I had to go in for a biopsy in the same breast. Results were good, no cancer or pre-cancer. After starting a run of antibiotics and getting past the flu like symptoms I thought things were looking up. WRONG!!! On came the milk blisters. While feeling the pain and agony of everything already going on, I went in to see a lactation consultant for help and was told that burning red skin and sharp shooting pains I was feeling was thrush. My mother-in-law is a life saver. She came and stayed for most of the week and took care of the kids. I knew that the problems were not over when I decided the only way to get over this HUGE hurdle in breastfeeding was to let my milk dry up. I don't know what is worse, thrush or engorgement while I play the waiting game. With many tears and a special diet to clear up the yeast overgrowth I think things are finally looking up. Today I am ready to wake up and have hope that the nightmare is over.
