Six years today!

Six years, seven jobs, four vehicles, three appartments, two kids, one rental house, one house and two people still in love!


Bryan never forgets special occasions and always makes me feel loved and appreciated.

A smorgasbord update

Last night Bryan and I had our Anniversary "date". Our actual anniversary is not until December 14th. Bryan is leaving next week on travel so I figured we should celebrate early this year. We went out for dinner and then to see Jim Brickman in concert. He actually came to Logan (I was shocked too when I heard he was coming to town). It was a good concert and a great way to kick off the Christmas season.


I took our babysitter home and when I returned I heard "Hayley - I need you to fix something for me" I went up to see what was going on. This is what I found:


He says "I was bending over and my pants split open".

We had family pictures taken this week - thanks again Mandy!
Its so hard to get everyone looking forward with eyes open and a good expression on their face. McCrae and I must be related.

I had to post this picture - Kellon has finally started sitting up by himself. And last but not least...

The only picture taken during our thanksgiving holiday. McCrae got soap in his eyes during his bath and needed a band aid "to make it feel better". We spent Thanksgiving in Vernal this year. We had a great dinner at Aunt Dawn's. We went to Vernal City's festivities on Friday which included the light parade, the festival of trees and McCrae's favorite, the blow up toys at western park.

Not another picture mom...

Rather than posting before and after pictures of Kellon's head with the helmet, we will post before and during while his head is getting "a-(round)-to-it". So this is before...

I took the above picture at the end of September. The picture below shows his head rounding out after only 6 weeks of wearing the helmet.

When we first saw the physical therapist the difference from his right front to left back and left front to right back of his head measured 13mm. At his last appointment the difference in his head measurements was 4mm which was the goal. Hooray! Now he will continue to wear the helmet all the time until he is 10 months (to keep his head from shifting back to where it was) and then just at night and during naps until he turns one!

We spent a week at Gram-E and Papa's house. Kellon got to bath in the sink because there is no bath tub in the barn house. When McCrae saw what was going on he insisted that he is not too big for a sink bath.

Oh the things to do with only one instead of two!

We went to vernal last weekend for Meagan's baby shower. She had a fairly good turn out and got some very useful things. Bryan went deer hunting with Stuart, Dustin and Chris. He didn't know he had a tag until a few days before the hunt. He hasn't been hunting at all as long as I have known him. He really likes it but other things have taken higher priority (school, wife, family). For those reasons I am glad that he was able to get a deer. We told McCrae that when he could go potty and no longer needed a diaper he could stay at Grandma's and Grandpa's house. We didn't know even right up until we left on Sunday if he would really want to stay. Just as we were packing up Connie and Dick showed up with a big battery operated tractor. I think it sweetened the deal a little and McCrae really wanted to stay. He spent the week with Grandma and Bryan and I came back home. Our house has not been this quiet since McCrae was Kellon's age. I tried to put the extra time to good use.


I went christmas shopping and wrapped gifts. This is one thing that is next to impossible to accomplish with a toddler and a baby and try and keep both happy while shopping. I am never this organized but it feels great to know I am almost done! I cleaned some blinds in my living room (I don't know when the last time they got cleaned). I also got my much needed hair cut and color and found a local stylist worth keeping.


I made cupcakes for a Sunday school object lesson on chastity. I asked my class if they wanted one and they all did until I picked one up and licked it. I think they got the message.


I went to Super Saturday and painted a lot of crafts that I signed up for. Now I have to make the time to finish them. Kellon did really well to hang out mostly in the nursery while I was frantically trying to get everything painted. I was on the food committee for this activity so I spent the night before making soup and brownies. I am pleased with how everthing turned out.

I bottled the last of my tomatoes (sigh). The last batch was the biggest - 7 quarts! I only had one that didn't seal. What a relief to know the growing season is over and I don't have to worry about what to do with vegetables that are spoiling because I can't eat them fast enough.

The first thing McCrae did when he walked in the door after traveling back home was say "Mom come and see what is in the trunk" Of course his tractor - he wanted to ride it some more. Kellon had a nice little ride too!
